Cassper Nyovest is out here singing his own praises, and he doesn’t care what y’all think.

The rapper took to his Twitter last night to declare himself the South African hip-hop benchmark, and his comment comes just after his frenemy, rapper AKA, threw a massive gig in Pretoria, titled, AKA Orchestra On The Square. And to rub salt to injury, Cassper Nyovest claimed the only reason his rivals are doing one-man shows is because of him.

“Y’all don’t understand how important it is to love your damn self. That’s the only way to be happy. Speak highly of yourself. Settle into your greatness. Don’t let nobody tell you any different. You’re the sh*t!” he said, adding that he’s over putting validation “rights” in the hands of people whose validation he doesn’t need.

“(I) just wanna show you how people are quick to try to bring your spirit down as soon as you tweet anything positive about yourself, especially if it’s a fact. Be careful of that. That’s why self validation is the most important. Our people suffer from ‘Se uyaphapha syndrome’. Sad stuff,” he said.

He continued, “They never saw it coming. He is the most loved hip-hop artists of all time. He’s the benchmark. He is the reason why ni*gas have their one-man concerts today. The boy is a legend. They hate the fact that he knows he is a legend and he isn’t afraid of saying it. The greatest!”
