In short, the Grammy Awards is known as GRAMMY, also referred to as the Grammys. Grammys is an annual music award presented by the Recording Academy of the United States to recognize outstanding achievements in the music industry in the United States and other countries of the world because music artists from other countries like the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Nigeria, and other countries have won this prestigious music award.

The Grammy Awards was first awarded 65 years ago on May 4, 1959; at first, the prestigious music award was known as the GramophoneAward.

Over the years, Grammys has grown to become the most prestigious and significant awards in the music industry not just in the United States alone but worldwide. It is the dream of thousands of music artists to win the Grammys music award.

The Grammy is an annual music award that is presented by the Recording Academy of the United States to outstanding music artists in the United States and other countries of the world.

Music artists are advised to submit their music album, EP, and other projects for review immediately after reviewing each music project.

Nigerian Artists Who Have Performed at the Grammy Awards

Burna Boy is the first and only Nigerian music artist to perform at the Grammy award event. The internationally recognized Nigerian music artist had the opportunity to perform at the 66th Grammy Awards ceremony that took place on Sunday, February. 4 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, United States.

Burna Boy performed at the 66 Grammy Awards ceremony together with several music artists like 21 Savage and Brandy. 

He performed “On Form”, “City Boys”, and “Sittin’ On Top Of The World”

At the 66th Grammy Awards ceremony, Burna Boy was nominated for four categories including Best Global Music Album (I Told Them…), the inaugural Best African Music Performance (“City Boys”), Best Global Music Performance (“Alone”), and Best Melodic Rap Performance (“Sittin’ On Top Of The World”). Unfortunately, he lost all of his four nominations.

It is very important to know that Burna Boy is the only Nigerian music artist who single-handedly won The Grammy with his music project.

Burna Boy won the Best World Music Album at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards with his fifth studio album, titled Twice as Tall, in August 2020.

Burna Boy is one of the most successful Nigerian music artists of all time, he started his career in 2010 and dropped his first record Shobeedo in 2011. Although he has been creating music since the age of 10.
