The former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore has been suspended by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).
Sowore was the party’s former chairman. He was suspended for alleged anti-party activities such as funds misappropriation and refusing to heed the tenets of the party’s constitution by refusing to hold a NEC meeting.
The founder of Sahara reporters was suspended during a special NEC meeting in Abuja on Monday with Leonard Nzewa, the paty’s national secretary immediately sworn in as acting chairman.
The committee revealed that Sowore’s suspension takes effect from May 27 and will last for six months unless the decision is overturned by a national convention of the party.
